VIRUSfighter

It is not wise to surf the Internet without adequate protection against viruses and other malicious programs. It may seem safe and your computer can run without any problems, but you can never be certain if it is infected or not. Malware can send sensitive information from your computer and you will not even notice. Like most anti-virus software on the market, VIRUSfighter will scan your hard drive for any type of malicious files, remove them and prevent further infections.

VIRUSfighter can be used free of charge for a limited period of time. It comes in a smaller package than other anti-virus programs and it can be installed in a minute. It is compatible with all Windows versions, from Win 2000 to Win 7 and you will not encounter any conflicts if you already have an anti-virus software installed.

There are three scanning methods to choose from. The full scan is very thorough and it will target the computer's memory, as well as the local hard drives. The quick scan is faster, but the software will only scan your hard drive. The third method is a custom scan, which lets you target a specific partition or folder.

All scanning modes are placed in separate columns in the interface's Scan section. You can switch to an overview, quarantine or the software's general settings with the navigation buttons on the left side of the window. VIRUSfighter can be scheduled to perform regular scans. You can select one or more days of the week and a time of the day in the Settings section. It is also possible to select what type of scan to perform (full or quick).

The Overview section provides you with important information such as the last time you scanned your computer, when the next scheduled scan will be performed, when the software was last updated and more. These details are neatly organized in separate boxes on the interface, which makes them easier to spot.
